Why our software reviews are hands-on, not pay-to-play
The trades get sold software the same way they get sold everything else: by whoever has the biggest ad budget.
Most directories rank tools by vendor spend and self-reported feature lists. The demos are run by salespeople who never have to use the product on a Tuesday in someone's driveway, so the whole process rewards the loudest marketer instead of the tool that actually gets adopted.
This software ranking is the opposite. We run a real week of real jobs through every tool, score it on the same published 40-point rubric from the data we gather in the field, then re-check each score against that rubric before it goes live.
No vendor can pay to move up. A tool with no affiliate program is scored exactly like the one that pays the most, so the shortlist reflects the software itself and not the marketing behind it.
That is the whole idea behind independent software reviews. Too many software review sites are quietly pay-to-play, and we hold the same standard for business software reviews in every category we cover.
The software we review is what keeps a service business moving day to day. It schedules and dispatches a mobile crew, lets the office track jobs and inventory in one place, and gives technicians real-time access from any device in the field.
Company size does not change the test. We hold small business software reviews to the same rubric as enterprise software reviews, so a startup with one laptop and a franchise with a hundred trucks can trust the same scores, judged on price, features, quality, and day-to-day efficiency. The point is to turn a marketing pitch into a buying decision you can defend.
That is what honest software reviews should look like. They are unbiased software reviews and ratings, built around real performance and the day-to-day experience of using each product, never around who spent the most to be seen.
The software reviews, ranked
Ranked by our overall score, so the top software reviews sit at the top of the list.
Every review is hands-on and scored on the same seven areas, which is what makes the numbers directly comparable from one tool to the next.

#25 Arborgold
One system for tree, lawn and landscape
Best for tree, lawn and landscape
Arborgold is a specialist, not a generalist, and that is the whole case for it. Built by Tree Management Systems since 1994 for tree, lawn and landscape businesses, it handles the things a general field-service tool leaves out: plant and tree inventory, chemical tracking and reporting, a service-cycle view of recurring work, and an estimating calculator tuned to green-industry pricing. It holds a 4.3 on Capterra from around 65 reviews, with the strongest praise from tree-care operators who use its specialised workflow.
Where Arborgold fits is a tree, lawn or landscape company that has outgrown spreadsheets and wants software built around its actual work. CRM, scheduling and dispatch, mobile field bidding, route optimisation, invoicing and job costing sit under one roof, and Professional and Enterprise plans add the chemical tracking, contract renewals and deeper reporting that a multi-crew operation needs.
The trade-offs are cost and learning curve. Pricing starts at 129 dollars a month and climbs to 299 and 499 for the higher tiers, there is no free trial, and Arborgold reviews note it takes time to master. Operators running lawn maintenance or general landscaping sometimes find the cost and complexity hard to justify. For a serious tree-care business, though, Arborgold is worth it and purpose-built for the trade.

#26 ServicePal
Paperless service contracting on the iPad
Best iPad-first field app
ServicePal takes a deliberately focused approach: an iPad-first app that lets a service contractor schedule, dispatch, capture custom work forms, collect signatures and payment, and invoice, all from a tablet in the field. It rates well but on a very small review base, around 2 reviews on Capterra, so read the score as directional rather than definitive. Founded in 2011 in Redwood City and built around customisable forms, it suits contractors whose main goal is retiring paper work orders.
Where ServicePal fits is paperless service contracting on iOS. Customisable work-order and inspection forms, e-signatures, field payment collection and a QuickBooks integration turn a paper-and-clipboard workflow into a clean digital one, and its pay-as-you-go monthly pricing keeps it low-commitment for a small shop.
The trade-offs are scope and scale. ServicePal is narrower and more iPad-centric than a full all-in-one FSM, its review base is tiny, and features and reporting are lighter than the big platforms. For a small HVAC, plumbing, electrical or chimney contractor whose real goal is a simple, customisable, paperless iPad workflow, though, ServicePal is worth a look.

#27 PestPac (WorkWave)
The enterprise standard for pest control
Best for large pest control operations
PestPac is the deep, industry-specific option in pest control software, and the trade-offs come straight from that depth. Built by WorkWave, the company formerly known as Marathon Data Systems and running since 1984, it packs scheduling, routing, CRM, billing, chemical tracking, WDO termite reporting and regulatory compliance into one pest-control-native platform. More than 65 of PCT Magazine's Top 100 pest control companies run on it. It holds a 3.9 on Capterra from around 256 reviews, a score shaped as much by cost and complexity as by capability.
Where PestPac fits is a serious pest control business that needs pest-specific workflows a general field-service tool cannot match: pesticide usage tracking, pest activity logging, integrated pest management, multi-unit building management and compliance reporting, all built in from the ground up and scaling from a single operator to a national multi-branch enterprise.
The trade-offs are cost, complexity and interface age. Pricing is quote-based and modular, so route optimisation, marketing and termite modules are add-ons that push the total up, there is no public free trial, and PestPac reviews consistently flag a steep learning curve and a dated interface. For a growing pest control operator who needs that depth and compliance, though, PestPac is worth a serious look.

#28 Intuit Field Service Management
Field service that lives inside QuickBooks Enterprise
Best for QuickBooks Enterprise users
Intuit Field Service Management is a niche pick with one clear reason to exist: it is the field-service add-on built by Intuit, powered by Corrigo, to plug straight into QuickBooks. For a service business already committed to QuickBooks Desktop or Online, that sync of work orders, invoices and payments into the books is the whole draw. Outside that, the picture is harder: it holds just a 2.8 on Capterra and SoftwareAdvice, from a small base of around 6 reviews, with recurring complaints about the QuickBooks sync itself, a dated interface and confusing pricing.
Where it fits is a QuickBooks-first shop that wants scheduling, a dispatch board and a mobile app for technicians without leaving the Intuit ecosystem. Technicians get work orders on a phone or tablet, capture signatures and take payment in the field, and the office keeps invoicing and accounting in one place. Pricing starts around 35 dollars per user a month with a free trial.
The trade-offs are real and well documented. Reviewers report QuickBooks sync problems that create duplicate customers and payments, an interface that feels dated, limited GPS, infrequent updates and support that is hard to reach. Several call it overpriced for what it does. For a business not already tied to QuickBooks, a modern field-service platform is usually the better buy; for a committed QuickBooks shop that values the direct link, Intuit Field Service Management can still earn its place, with eyes open.

How to use this software directory
Think of this as an independent software directory, not a sales sheet.
Start with the category that fits your work, then read the reviews for the two or three tools sitting at the top of it. Put those finalists in a software comparison side by side before you commit to anything.
Every ranking is built the same way, so the top software in one category earns its place exactly like the top software in another, and the rankings across categories stay directly comparable.
The point is to do the software selection research for you. Instead of sitting through vendor demos, you get an independent software evaluation of each tool: what it does well, where it falls short, and who it actually fits.
If you have ever wondered how to evaluate software without a month of sales calls, the 40-point rubric is the shortcut. It is the same software vendor evaluation we run on every product, applied consistently so the scores mean something.
Use it three ways. Treat it as a software finder when you do not know where to start, as a second opinion on a shortlist you already have, or as a way to compare software you are weighing against each other.
Read our reviews for the hands-on verdict, then cross-check the software user reviews that real customers and users leave elsewhere for the day-two problems a demo tends to hide.
Our software recommendations are simply the tools that earned the top of each ranking. They are never the ones that paid the most, because nothing here can be paid for.
Every software review at a glance
These online software reviews put the whole field on one screen, sorted by our score, with the starting price and free-trial data we verified ourselves, not vendor claims.
The list runs from trade-built tools like Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan to enterprise platforms like Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho and ServiceMax. Every system is scored the same way, on features and value, never on who paid.
The field spans everything from a one-person business to enterprises managing assets and equipment across a fleet, and this table covers the systems built for real service work.

How we score, the 40-point rubric
Every tool earns points across the same seven areas. The weighting reflects what actually makes or breaks a service business day to day.
The result is clear software ratings and reviews for every product, from the tool at the top of the list to the one at the bottom.
Want the full detail? Our software review methodology breaks down how each of the 40 points is awarded and how every score is re-checked before it goes live.
Scheduling & dispatch 8 pts
Estimating & quoting 7 pts
Invoicing & payments 7 pts
Reporting & insights 5 pts
Support & onboarding 4 pts
What each score covers
Cloud-based software pulls scheduling and dispatch, a mobile app for technicians, work orders and maintenance tracking, invoicing and the integrations to your accounting into one system. These are the seven areas every review is scored on, and what we look for in each.
MoMobile app
Your techs live in it. Confirm scheduling, notes, photos and payments all work offline and load fast on a cheap phone.
ScScheduling & dispatch
Drag-and-drop calendar, route-aware dispatch and automatic reminders, so nobody double-books or misses a stop.
QtEstimating & quoting
Build a branded quote on-site, add optional upsells, and let the customer approve it from their phone.
InInvoicing & payments
One-tap invoice from a finished job, card and ACH on the spot, and a clean sync to your accounting.
IxIntegrations
QuickBooks, payments and the tools you already run. The fewer things you re-key by hand, the better.
SuSupport & onboarding
Real onboarding and fast support in your timezone. The best tool is the one your crew actually adopts.
How we test
This is the work that turns our scores into reliable software reviews you can act on.
The same three steps run behind every tool on the list, in the same order, with no shortcuts for the vendors that happen to pay affiliate commissions.
1Independent, not sponsoredNo vendor gives us a special account, a nudge, or a spot on the list. We test the same product any customer would.
2A real week of jobsWe run quotes, schedules, dispatches and invoices through it, the way a real crew would.
3Scored on 40 pointsThe same rubric for every tool, then each score is re-checked against the rubric before it goes live.
Frequently asked
How do you rank the software?
We run a real week of real jobs through each tool and score it on the same 40-point rubric across seven areas. The overall score sets the rank, and nobody can pay to move up.
Do vendors pay to be listed or ranked?
No. There is no paid placement anywhere on Duhari. Some outbound links are affiliate links, which never affect the rank or the score.
How often are these reviews updated?
We re-check pricing and features each review pass and date every page. Software vendors change plans often, so a dated page tells you how fresh the numbers are.
Which software is best overall?
The tool at the top of the ranking scored highest on our rubric, but the best pick depends on your trade and crew size. Use the trade rankings below to narrow it down.
Is this list independent?
Yes. We are not owned by any vendor, and no tool gets a better score for being a partner. Every review is hands-on and re-checked against the fixed rubric.
Where can I find the best software reviews for the trades?
Right here. We aim to be the trusted software reviews the trades actually use, with the top tool in each category earned on a public rubric, never paid for.
Are these B2B software reviews reliable?
Yes. Unlike the directories that rank whoever pays the most, ours are hands-on and independent, so you can act on the ratings without second-guessing them.
How is Duhari different from crowd-sourced review sites?
Many software reviews sites simply run ratings and reviews software that aggregates whatever users type in. The customer reviews software buyers leave on those sites can help, but nobody there has actually run the product on a job. Here, every rating comes from a hands-on week of real work.
Where can I read software reviews I can trust?
Right on this page. You can read software reviews for every tool in the ranking, each written as hands-on software advice reviews after a real week of use, never recycled from a vendor's marketing.
Is Duhari a software reviews site or a directory?
Both. It is a software reviews website you can browse by category or by tool, with individual software company reviews all scored on the same public scale.
